Global Special School
for the Intellectual Disabilities
Global Residential Special School is a place of gardening where the Children with Intellectual and other Developmental Disabilities can live in their own world. The atmosphere of the school is designed to encourage the children for self-learning on Activity of Daily Living (ADL) and social skill involvement. All Along with the parents and the guardian of the children are motivated to involve in the pre and post rehabilitation service system.
Based on the IQ level assessment, the children are admitted in Custodial, Trainable and Educable groups. Participatory Teaching Learning method with Individualized Education Program (IEP) is adopted to improve their Motor skills, Academic skills, Social skills and Domestic activities. Special attention is given to enhance the peer group involvement and self-learning habits with an intensive motivational approach.
Pictorial posters, Toys, Play materials and Audio Visual Communication facilities are also provided to improve their learning skill sets and leisure activities. The school was started in 2013 in a rented building with 45 children but the enrolment has gradually increased and now 170+ children are receiving rehabilitation services at free of cost.

The Inclusive Education Plan is the program to prepare the children with special needs in the special education system and admit them into the mainstream education system. As of Now 12 children were mainstreamed in the normal schools. Our main objective is to encourage and provide opportunities to the Children with mild and Moderate Intellectual Disability categories to access their education in the normal school atmosphere and mingle with the children without disabilities.

Parenting plays a vital role in every stages of rehabilitation process to develop special children to lead their life independently or dependently with minimum support. So Global Trust has motivated the parents and create “Parent Institution “model which involves the parents closely spend their time with the special children for understanding them and unique nature of their disabilities better way. Apart from this initiative, we are providing awareness and motivational programs to them in order to know more about the challenges and solutions to address the issues related to the intellectual disabilities. This will help them to care their children at their home and also aware of the differently abled in the society.

Most often, the Potential of the Children or Adult with Intellectual and developmental disabilities unnoticed by their parents at their home. Global Trust has a vision to assess their capabilities during the special Education program and provide prevocational training to identify their capabilities for involving them in the training for various vocational skills individually and jointly.
Global Vocational Training Centre has been given various training to produce Phenol, Paper Products, Wire bag Making, Handicrafts etc. Also the products which are made during the training program have been marketed through exhibitions, trade fares, and other events organised by our organisations, State and Central Government departments. This will help our children or adults with special needs to earn income out of their vocation skills and lead their life with dignity.

The man who can see straight in the eyes of the disability and say “you can’t disable me!!!”. Dilip K a young energetic, friendly full of life guy, someone you could not stop adoring. He joined Global Trust in 2018 for skill development training and he trained well in Housekeeping, food & beverages & retail domain. In 2020 Global Trust started online computer training with his mother to expose different skills in Covid situation.

Distance from city, and intellectual disability may have widened the road to her life she deserves but the girl has the strength to walk miles. She joined the Samvardhana Resource Centre, run by Global Trust at Ramanagara at the age of 9 years. She trained under pre-vocational activities & skill development. She approached the head of a resource center to open a small provision store beside her house in her village.
